Jagfest
THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING
JAGFEST 2012 SUCH A SUCCESS!!!
Jagfest 2012 is getting rave reviews. From the students…to the parents…to the SMS staff…to the volunteers. Everyone seemed to have had a great time.

This event never would have turned out the way it did without the generous support of the SMS PTSA, the Jagfest Sponsors and the 90 volunteers who showed up that day. Thanks to all the parents, administrators, teachers and janitors who helped create such a well-run event.

I would like to extend a special thanks to Nancy Lyons for all her hard work with the Rummage Sale (and so much more)…to Mrs. Caputo for organizing the SMS Teachers…to Ginger for running the raffle…and to Mrs. Barlow for organizing the school clubs. Thanks to the “Superior A-Rated” SMS Chorus for kicking off the show, and to Mr. Erwig for entertaining us to the end. Thanks to the moms who ran the Karaoke and Hula-Hoop Contests. Thanks to all the parents who helped run the Food Concessions, Dunk Tank and Baseball Speed Pitch.

The SMS PTSA had substantially increased the Jagfest budget again this year ($2000 more than the year before), and although we held the line on the costs to the students and families…we still managed to make a small profit of about $300. The PTSA also funded many of the supplies for the various school clubs and I am told they made over $1000.

I would like to extend my warmest thanks to the SMS Administrators. Principal George was at Jagfest making coffee at 7:30am and Vice-principal Moon was still there at 5:00pm when I left. I lost count of how many chores Ginger DeLorenzo and Nancy Johnson helped me with in the weeks leading up to Jagfest. And it was so nice to see the teachers helping at Jagfest. I know they were threatened with the Dunk Tank, but it sure looked like they were happy to be there anyway.

We also had great support from the Jensen Beach High School Key Club and ROTC.

Thank you all!

See you again next year,
Craig Mancuso, Jagfest Chairman
